Intellectual Property at the Supreme Court CARTER PHILLIPS, Chair Emeritus, Sidley Austin. Mr. Phillips has argued over 75 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, more than any other lawyer in private practice. His cases at the U.S. Supreme Court include some of the most significant Intellectual Property cases in recent history including: Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank eBay v. MercExchange Teva Pharmaceuticals v. Sandoz Life Technologies v. Promega Octane Fitness v. Icon Health & Fitness Mr. Phillips will talk about some of these cases, the sudden upsurge in Supreme Court interest in patent litigation, the strategy behind handling cases in the Supreme Court, and the interplay with the Federal Circuit. He will intersperse his presentation with some of his favorite Supreme Court stories.
