Keynote Speaker: The Honorable Robert L. Kinder
The Honorable Robert L. Kinder is a Lead Administrative Patent Judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Lead Judge Kinder has experience deciding appeals arising from adverse decisions of Examiners at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as well as presiding over numerous America Invents Act (AIA) trials to determine patentability of claims in patents subsequent to issuance.
Lead Judge Kinder served as a Captain in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He began his legal career serving as a law clerk to the Honorable H. Robert Mayer, Chief Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Following his clerkship, Lead Judge Kinder practiced with the firms Hunton & Williams and Dickstein Shapiro in Washington, D.C.
Lead Judge Kinder earned his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio Northern University.
